Ashley is the first employee and Chief Culture Officer of ConsenSys, a blockchain production house and consultancy. At ConsenSys she helps define and imagine blockchain in the context of the culture it enables. Specifically she focuses on how blockchain reputation will catalyze cooperative economics and the potential to democratize opportunity. She is also involved in community activism projects as part of a nonprofit, Future Culture. Previously she worked with a group of data and media artists at the Office for Creative Research, who craft tools for engaging with the human side of data. She was also part of a think tank, Center for Planetary Culture, where they developed a wiki that crowdsourced viable models of social change. Ashley studied Cultural Anthropology and Visual and Media Studies at Duke. She grew up in the Piedmont foothills of North Carolina, plays the harp, and teaches yoga therapy.
