Brian is a partner at the boutique litigation firm Baker Marquart LLP, which is based in Los Angeles. His practice focuses on high-stakes criminal and regulatory defense and civil litigation matters. He has extensive experience representing financial technology companies, entrepreneurs, and early adopters. He founded and chairs the board of directors of the non-profit Digital Currency and Ledger Defense Coalition, chairs the America Bar Association’s digital currency and blockchain technology conference, and he is on the board of advisors of BlockSeer, a blockchain analytics company. He formerly volunteered as the outside general counsel of the Bitcoin Foundation. He served as a federal prosecutor in Los Angeles from 2007-2012 and teaches a federal criminal practice seminar at University of Southern California’s law school.
